This policy explains what personal information Small Business Training Hub Ltd ("SBTH", "we", "us", "our") collects through this website (sbth.co.nz) and our courses, why we collect it, how we look after it, and what rights you have over it. We handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 2020 (New Zealand).
Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect:

Personal data means any information capable of identifying an individual. It does not include anonymised data. We may collect and process your personal data in a different ways:
Account details - name, email address, and password when you create a login to access a course
Purchase details - billing information and payment confirmation when you buy a course (see section 4 on payments)
Course activity - your progress through a course, quiz results, and completion status, used to track your learning and issue certificates where applicable
Communication data - anything you send us via email, contact forms, or support requests
Technical data - IP address, browser type, and how you use our website, collected automatically via cookies and analytics tools (see our Cookie Policy).
We use your information to:
- Set up and manage your account and course access
- Process your purchase and deliver the course you've bought
- Issue certificates of completion where applicable
- Respond to enquiries and support requests
- Send you course-related and, where you've opted in, marketing communications
- Understand how our website and courses are used, so we can improve them
- Meet our legal, accounting, and tax obligations
Payments are processed securely through Stripe, or by invoice where arranged directly with us. We don't see or store your full card details - these are handled by Stripe under its own security and privacy standards. Invoice payments may involve sharing billing details with our accounting systems.
If you sign up to our mailing list, we'll use your email address to send you the updates you signed up for. Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can opt out at any time, in line with the Unsolicited Electronic Messages Act 2007. Unsubscribing from marketing emails doesn't affect course-related emails tied to a course you've purchased (e.g. access details, certificate delivery).
We don't sell your personal information. We share it only with trusted service providers who help us operate
These providers only use your information to deliver their service to us, under their own privacy and security obligations. Some of these providers store or process data outside New Zealand (Zenler, Stripe, and Google all operate internationally). Where that happens, we take reasonable steps to ensure your information is protected to a standard comparable with the Privacy Act 2020.
We take reasonable steps to protect your personal information from loss, misuse, or unauthorised access, including restricting access to those who need it and using secure, reputable third-party platforms. Your password is stored securely by our platform provider (Zenler) and isn't visible to us in plain text.
We keep personal information only as long as necessary for the purpose we collected it for, or as required by law - for example, financial and transaction records may need to be retained for a minimum period under NZ tax law.
